We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Team Manager to join the Parking Services Team at Cheshire West & Chester Council.

As the Parking Team Manager in a uniformed frontline service, your role will be to Supervise, mentor and coach the Senior Enforcement Officers, Civil Enforcement Officers, Car Park Supervisor, Car Park Technicians and Customer Service Assistants as well as taking remedial action, where appropriate, to improve services. 

Your day-to-day duties will include:

People Management – You will be responsible for all the basic principles of people management including all activity of the on-street /off-street and back-office team while motivating and leading the team. You will ensure that monthly team meetings and --s are in place whilst tracking and managing the performance levels of individuals, administering support where required. You’ll take responsibility for your team, including recruitment, retention, training, performance evaluation and continued development. Coaching and mentoring – You’ll be identifying relevant training opportunities for staff and making arrangements as appropriate to ensure staff are adequately trained in all necessary aspects of service delivery including the operation of machinery, reviewing health and safety regulations including risk assessments, writing method statements and COSHH assessments, and promoting safe working practices by ensuring all staff are aware of and are following relevant Council policies and procedures.  Admin Functions – You’ll be providing regular reports to service managers, rostering deployment levels, monitoring KPI targets across all operations and maintaining standards of performance taking corrective action where service levels are not being met.

There are some specific skills and experience the right candidate will have:

Experience of leading or managing a team within a busy environment A passion for providing great customer service. Attention to detail with strong leadership skills. Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative as part of a team. Experience working within the Parking Industry would be very beneficial but not essential.
