Job summary

The post holder will have responsibility for providing advanced data analytical support to the ICS People Team and wider system workforce workstream to improve our workforce planning approach to help ensure we have the right staff in the right place at the right time to deliver the right outcomes to our population.

As this is a fairly new role within the ICS, the post holder will be expected to establish the position amongst wider system colleagues along with designing, planning and delivering analytical projects independently by applying project management techniques.

Main duties of the job

Key aspects of this role include:

Supporting the ICS in undertaking operational, multiyear and other planning exercises

Regular development and updating ICS reporting/highlight dashboards Workforce Integrated Performance Reports as per national guidelines, Primary Care and EDI dashboards.

Assist with understanding the current positions and the future demands by performing gap analysis across the ICS

Support the development and implementation of data analytics solutions and tools to support the ICS

Support the development of an integrated ICS planning tool

Identify, manage and mitigate any risk associated with the delivery of successful analytical projects using accepted management methodologies.

Support workforce planning training and upskill workforce planners and other management staff on data analytics and data analytics solutions usage.

Emphasise the importance of data analytics and improve data literacy amongst different professionals including the decision makers.

Communicate complex information to internal and external colleagues through effective modes of communication.

Be a self-motivated and enthusiastic professional in taking responsibility for your own continuous professional development.

Qualifications

Essential

Educated to Masters level in related to data analytics eg data science, statistics, maths, computer science or equivalent experience

Desirable

Workforce planning, data analysis or similarly relevant qualification

Experience

Demonstrable experience of working at a senior level in a workforce planning, data analysis, data science or similar role Experience of using data analytical and reporting systems and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau/Qlik, SQL, SPSS, R, Python Experience of identifying and interpreting strategy/policy Has experience of researching best practice, interpreting its relevance and processes/practices which could be implemented successfully to achieve system improvements (advising on policy implementation) Show experience of successful developmental planning, implementation and evaluation, ideally linked to workforce

Desirable

Ideally a comprehensive experience of managing successful programmes and knowledge of project techniques and tools Prince 2, Agile or other similar Experience / knowledge in data modelling or system dynamics

Extensive demonstrable knowledge of planning, data and analytics, ideally related to workforce Can analyse and interpret complex data, often from multiple sources, include assumptions and create scenarios, produce insights, conclusions and recommendations to enable decision making Can effectively plan and deliver training Is highly skilled at producing reports and dashboards which distil key issues in a stimulating and informative way, using visualisation techniques
