My client, one of the UKs leading providers of ZERO CARBON energy is looking for an experienced PMO analyst to join them on a contract basis.

This position plays a crucial role in the monitoring, management, and reporting of key portfolio, programme, and project metrics in the areas of quality, time, and cost. The PMO Analyst will be responsible for conducting investment case and project readiness reviews, supporting the Programme Manager, and providing operational support to the Portfolio Board.

Principal Accountabilities:

Portfolio Analysis and Improvement:
Provide insight and analysis of the portfolio to identify trends and make recommendations for overall performance improvement.

Project Performance Monitoring:
Monitor individual project performance, highlight issues, and recommend necessary interventions.

Status Reporting:
Provide status reports on portfolio progress and performance to senior management, emphasizing business case rigour, prioritization, staff resource deployment, risk and issue management, scope and quality changes, and process improvement.

Resource Service:
Offer a holistic resource service to the portfolio, including demand planning, agency liaison, internal process adherence, assignment negotiation, notification, and associated MIS.

Data Repository Management:
Maintain a central repository of key data related to the portfolio for enterprise-level analysis and trade-off decisions.

Portfolio Board Process Support:
Ensure adherence, timeliness, and quality of Portfolio Board processes, including maintaining and owning areas such as secretariat activities, investment case approvals, and producing a forward portfolio pipeline view for effective project scheduling.

Documentation Management:
Maintain an auditable library of all approval documents and other relevant project documentation.

Deputizing for Programme Manager:
Deputize for the Programme Manager in specific circumstances, such as chairing meetings.

System Administration:
Provide support and system administration for portfolio tools and systems, particularly SharePoint and EPM.

Stakeholder Management:
Work with external stakeholders in other portfolios and departments to manage and report on external dependencies and portfolio-level issues appropriately.

Financial Service:
Provide a holistic financial service to the department.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

Knowledge:

Human performance tools.
Portfolio Management / Programme Office experience.
Benefits realisation methodologies and tracking.
Financial and risk management processes.
Techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling projects and programmes.
IT Portfolio, Programme, and Project Management methodologies, including Agile.
Good operational and business awareness.

Strong persuasion, influence, and relationship-building abilities with senior stakeholders across the company.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in SharePoint, EPM, and other portfolio management tools.
