The Safety Office is part of the Health, Safety & Regulated Facilities Division and our mission is to assist all sectors of the University in managing health and safety, by delivering professional services in support of teaching and research.
To help fulfil our mission we are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic safety professional to join our workplace safety team. If you have a proven record in safety and are looking for a challenging role to help further develop your career then this could be the opportunity for you.
You will be supporting the work of the Safety Office by developing guidance, delivering training, providing sound practical, pragmatic advice on workplace safety to the wider University community, assisting is audits and inspections and helping everyone to understand and fulfil their health and safety responsibilities.
In addition to the above, you will also be involved in the management of the University statutory inspection contract for pressure systems and lifting equipment, knowledge in these areas would be preferable but not essential.
We are looking for someone with at least a NEBOSH certificate or equivalent safety qualification, excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail and computer literate. Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
