This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nurse to further their career with a 1 year secondment to Band 6 on T09 which is a non-elective GI ward.

As a experienced Registered Nurse you will be responsible for supporting your Manager in ensuring that our service users’ needs are met through the delivery of high-quality care. As a centre of excellence, you will offer a person-centred approach to their independence and well-being.

Main duties of the job

Successful applicants will NMC registered nurses will always uphold the Trust Values and are proud to maintain high standards of nursing care when carrying out nursing procedures on the inpatient GI wards.

You will be responsible for the ensuring patient care is safe and carried out accordance with Trust policies/guidelines in line with the NMC code of conduct. UCLH has a fully integrated Electronic Health Record System (EPIC). All staff, including nurses, use this and are expected to always maintain a high standard of documentation. A GI ward nurse at UCLH provides a high nursing standards at all times including; personal care, psychological care, the safe storage and administration of medication at all times and compliance with our clinical governance framework. You will motivate colleagues, champion service user safety and dignity and with your team drive continuous improvement.

As a B6 you will expected to be the Nurse In Charge of the shift when on duty ensuring efficient patient flow and support to junior staff.
