Overview of therole

The Senior TechnologyEngineer will work as part of Research Technology and InnovationTeams to perform technology research and demonstration tasks withinthe Delka Research Technology & Innovationdepartment.

Our current technology developmentportfolio has vehicle control systems development and autonomousand uncrewed systems at its core. The successful candidate willlead the development of our autonomy capability and will beresponsible for mission systems aspects of our uncrewed systems.

They will employ soundsystems engineering practice and play a role in ensuring technologydevelopments meet safety environmental security regulations andbest practice. They will assist senior engineers or managers inplanning and organising research tasks and in interfacing withsuppliers partners and customers and will be responsible fordelivering against assigned tasks.

We arelooking for an engineer with a sound grasp of autonomy and missionsystems but welcome applications from candidates who feel they candemonstrate the aptitude to grow into therole.

We are interested in hearing fromcandidates with skill / knowledge in one or more of: AutonomySystems Architecting Modelling SystemsEngineering.

Keyresponsibilities

  • Researchand demonstrate technology as directed to support Delkia researchand product developmentprojects.
  • Collate prepareand maintain research documentation products and services in aconfigured manner to support company product / servicedevelopment.
  • Supportengineering reviews and support assuranceactivities.
  • Assist in thepromotion of Research and Technology developmentactivities.
  • Participate inregular reporting to line management Technical Manager and thewider business.
  • Offerinnovative solutions to technology challenges and commit to aculture of continuous businessimprovement.

Essential:

  • EngineeringComputing Science or Mathematics qualification with degree orequivalentexperience.
  • Strong verbaland written communicationskills
  • Ability to delivertechnology solutions in accordance with requirements / knowledgeobjectives.
  • Resilience touncertainty
  • Interest andevident skills in technology research and ordemonstration

Desirable:

  • PostGraduate degree
  • CharteredEngineer or Member of Professional Association working towardsChartered registration with EngineeringCouncil
  • Awareness /appreciation of legal and regulatory requirements within thetechnologyfield.
  • Appreciation ofproject management
