Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Support Nurse in Vascular Access Unit on a permanent contract.

Vascular Access Unit is a small and very lively team that is inserting central lines and performs procedures relating to central lines, such as Hickman line removals, port removals etc. You would receive training to be able to perform procedures and complete your competencies which are part of the Vascular Access accredited course.

This is a very exciting time to join our team. You would be part of a team that delivers training to all hospital staff for the care and maintenance of the central lines and you be actively involved in this.

Main duties of the job

You will be inserting PICC lines, temporary CVCs and midlines to adult patients referred to Vascular Access Unit. You will be removing Hickman lines and also support the Clinical Nurse Specialists with the insertion of the CVADs.

You will be supported by your mentor to complete your competencies and excel in your career in Vascular Access.
