JOBDESCRIPTION:

seeking anexperienced IT Project Manager contractor for an approximately6month engagement for the Project Management Office (PMO). Thisperson will be responsible for managing and coordinating many workefforts of various sizes across multiple teams and projects thatmay include Large Application Upgrades Telephony and Contact CenterNetwork Circuit Replacement and Infrastructure/Hardware projects.The Project Manager will be developing project schedules trackingstatus managing communication and dependencies. This individualwill also coordinate rollout for groups on multiple ECMdeliverables ensuring customers are informed & trained and thatoperational support is arranged. The individual must beknowledgeable and experienced with project management and ITInfrastructure and Governance. This individual must have provencontributorlevel experience with Microsoft SharePoint. Thisindividual will work closely with the NCDOR IT PMO Manager inassisting with solution documentation and project managementtools.

This position isremote. The contractor will be required to work during the corebusiness hours of 8 AM 5 PM EST weekdays. There is a mandatoryonehour lunch break from 12:00 PM 1:00 PM. During those corebusiness hours the contractor is expected to be at their computerand available to the PMO. No hours worked before 8 AM or after 5 PMwill be billable. If the candidate needs to be away from theircomputer for more than 15 minutes that time will not be billable.CURRENT PMP Certification is REQUIRED.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinate among multiple teams and individualsto ensure work items and deliverables are scheduled completed anddelivered to the clients on time and with high quality &excellent usable documentation. Coordinate thedevelopment and delivery of training materials for changed businessprocesses and IT applications. Maintain andmonitor project plans and milestones. Assessand document project risks and issues and provide solutions whereapplicable. Provide coordination for otherproject team members as needed. Document andfollow up on important actions and decisions frommeetings. Organize attend and participate instakeholder meetings. Prepare necessarypresentation materials for meetings. Provideadministrative support as needed. Undertakeproject tasks as required. Document theprogram and project deliverables as assigned.Ensure projects adhere to frameworks and alldocumentation is maintained appropriately for eachproject. Ensure stakeholder views are managedtowards the best solution. Chair andfacilitate meetings where appropriate and distribute minutes to allproject team members. Manage complex strategicprojects with multiple work streams. Createsimple to complex project plans timelines and work breakdownstructures. Develop and maintain lessonslearnedfor utilization on future projects. Managepolitical resource budgeting change and issues affecting theproject. Manage change requests associatedwith the project. Manage vendor participationrelated to the project. Drive project work tocompletion. Escalate issues whenneeded. Develop and maintain status reportsdecision and issue logs.

REQUIREMENTS:

PROCESSMANAGEMENT:

  • TheProject Manager will follow established processes within the NCDepartment of Revenue as well as processes defined and required bythe Statewide Enterprise Project Management Office in their role asan oversight organization.

  • Solid understanding of projectlife cycle models as well as knowledge of both Agile andtraditional project management principles and practices and theability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit aproject and business environment.
  • Experiencein managing large and/or complex projects through full lifecycle.
  • Experience in leading and managinglocal and remote teams.
  • Proven experience indelivering projects on time within budget as designed that meet thecustomer requirements.
  • Demonstratedunderstanding of the Project Management Knowledge Areas of thePMBOK PMIs Project Management Standard PM tools andtemplates.
