About the Role

The School of Engineering is looking for a Lead Assessor to join the team to inspire the next generation of young people into the industry. Working at our Printworks Campus, you will be in a state of the art environment supporting students to complete their apprenticeship and ensure they are ready to take that step into employment at the end of their course.

What You Will Do

You will be visiting apprentices in the workplace, liaising with employers, mentors and college teaching teams to ensure timely and successful completion for all students. Lead and supervise a team of assessors, including all duties normally associated with the management of staff such as appraisals, mentoring and performance management. To manage a caseload of learners, organise workplace assessment visits and meetings with employers To produce and monitor individual learning plans for learners and contribute to their updating (including Functional Skills and 20% of the job training) Lead , contribute and participate in the assessment and quality assurance procedures for all programmes/ training provision, including Internal Verification to the prescribed standards. Contribute to the review and evaluation process in order to ensure year on year improvements.

About You

Have engineering experience preferably in the utilities sector or related industry Have previous experience of working with young people and apprentices Hold a minimum of Level 4 qualification in an Engineering discipline Hold an assessor's award V1, TAQA or equivalent (essential) Hold a recognised teaching qualification (desirable)
