GSL Education are looking for Complex Needs Support Workers in Boston to provide essential support to children and young people with diverse needs.

Responsibilities of the Complex Needs Support Worker:

  • Support children and young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties, and complex medical needs.
  • Collaborate with families, medical professionals, and school leaders to create and implement personalised service plans for social, emotional, and developmental support.
  • Work with teachers, therapists, and specialists to effectively implement individualised education and care plans.
  • Assist class teachers in promoting sensory, speech, language, and communication development.
  • Manage classroom behaviour by recognising triggers and applying de-escalation techniques to maintain a positive environment.
  • Use specialised equipment and techniques to enhance students' learning and development.

Requirements of the Complex Needs Support Worker:

  • Relevant qualifications in health and social care or a related field (e.g., Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care).
  • Experience working with children or young adults with complex needs in an educational or care setting.
  • Be a strong and engaging communicator.
  • Be compassionate and caring and have a genuine desire to help young people overcome their barriers.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
