Role Overview:
As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and emotional needs of students. This position is ideal for psychology graduates interested in gaining practical experience in an educational setting, particularly those considering a career in educational psychology, teaching, or counseling.
Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Support:
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons by providing individual and group support to students.
- Help prepare lesson materials and resources, ensuring they are organized and ready for use.
- Support the management of classroom behavior to create a positive and productive learning environment.
Student Support:
- Work closely with students who have special educational needs (SEN), providing tailored support to help them access the curriculum.
- Implement strategies to support students' emotional and social development, drawing on your psychology background.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and track students' progress against their goals.
Administrative Duties:
- Help with the assessment and marking of students' work, providing constructive feedback to support their learning.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and attendance.
- Support the organization and execution of school events, trips, and extracurricular activities.
Pastoral Support:
- Provide one-on-one support and mentoring to students who may be experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges.
- Work with school counselors and other support staff to address students' mental health and well-being.
- Contribute to creating a safe and inclusive school environment where all students feel valued and supported.
Collaboration and Professional Development:
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and school leaders to ensure a holistic approach to student support.

Requirements:
- A degree in Psychology or a related field.
