Job Title: Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Psychology Graduate to join our team as a Teaching Assistant in an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Wilmslow.

Job Overview:

This is an excellent opportunity for a Psychology graduate to apply their knowledge and skills in an educational setting, supporting students with a variety of learning and emotional needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing one-to-one or small group support to students with special educational needs, including those with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties.
  • Assisting teachers in delivering lessons and ensuring students can fully participate in classroom activities.
  • Monitoring and encouraging the progress of students, offering feedback and motivation to boost their confidence and self-esteem.
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff, the SEN department, and other support staff to implement individualized learning strategies for students.
  • Supporting the emotional well-being of students, helping to manage anxiety, behavior issues, and other challenges they may face.
  • Assisting in maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment, where all students feel supported and able to succeed.
  • Contributing to the school's overall pastoral care approach, ensuring students' personal development and welfare are prioritized.
Key Details:
  • Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday.
  • Pay: £419.25 - £500 per week, depending on experience.
  • Potential for permanent role: Based on performance.

This role is particularly suited to a Psychology graduate looking to gain experience working with young people in an educational setting. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
