SEMH Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team at an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Wilmslow. This full-time role starts in October and runs until the end of the academic year, with the potential to become permanent based on performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges, helping them navigate the school environment and succeed academically.
  • Build positive relationships with students to foster their confidence, self-esteem, and motivation in school.
  • Assist in classroom settings, adapting teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of SEMH students.
  • Help manage challenging behavior, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff, and other professionals to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and provide targeted interventions.
  • Monitor students' progress and provide feedback to staff and parents, helping to refine support strategies when necessary.
  • Support students in developing coping mechanisms and resilience to overcome social, emotional, and academic challenges.
  • Encourage a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere, ensuring all students feel valued and supported.
Requirements:
  • Pay: £500 per week, depending on experience.
  • Full-time role, Monday to Friday.
  • Start Date: October, running through to the end of the academic year.
  • The role has the possibility of becoming permanent depending on performance.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
