Mechanical Design Engineer

Role Overview: The Mechanical Design Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing and developing mechanical components and systems for a diverse range of projects. This position requires a blend of creativity, technical expertise, and practical problem-solving skills to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

  • Design and Development: The role involves creating detailed mechanical designs and engineering drawings using CAD software. The engineer will develop innovative solutions that meet project requirements, industry standards, and client specifications.
  • Project Collaboration: Working closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and clients, to ensure successful project execution. Participation in design reviews and providing technical input will be essential.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Developing prototypes and conducting testing to validate design concepts. Analyzing test results and implementing necessary design modifications to ensure optimal performance and reliability are key responsibilities.
  • Documentation: Preparing and maintaining comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and technical manuals. Ensuring all documentation adheres to industry standards and company guidelines is critical.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensuring designs meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. Conducting thorough analysis and simulations to verify design integrity and performance will be part of the role.
  • Continuous Improvement: Staying updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design processes and product quality is expected.

Qualifications of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in defence, oil and gas, or renewables sectors.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical components and systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements in defence, oil and gas, and renewables sectors is highly desirable.
