Job summary

New Street & Netherton Group Practice is looking for apart time receptionist to join our friendly experienced team. The position is offering19 to hours per week, working between Tuesday and Friday each week. We arelooking for a hardworking, committed and enthusiastic individual with good IT skillswho is able to demonstrate excellent customer care. Previous experience ofworking in general practice is desirable but not essential as full trainingwill be provided.

Applicants must be able to work both independently and aspart of a team. They will need to be able to adapt to the day to day demands ofworking in a busy general practice setting.

Remuneration for the role meets the National Living wage. Weoffer attractive employment benefits including an annual leave entitlement of 4weeks, pro rata, and access to the NHS Pension Scheme.

Main duties of the job

To carry out a range of reception and administrative tasksin relation to the day-to-day running of the practice's reception service.

Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing theappropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient way.

Provide general assistance to the practice team and projecta positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in personor via the telephone.

These duties will be carried out at both our Milnsbridge andNetherton sites.

We are a forward thinking, dynamic team led by our two GPPartners. Our clinical team consists of GPs, Advanced Practitioners, Nurses andHealthcare Assistants, supported by our secretarial and admin teams. We alsowork alongside physiotherapists, social prescribers, pharmacists and mentalhealth support workers who are aligned with us from The Viaduct PCN.

Job responsibilities

To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include, but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, the processing of information and assisting patients as required.

To act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multi-disciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.

Core Responsibilities

a.Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system

b.Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments

incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately

d.Signpost patients to the correct service

e.Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies

required support in the management of repeat prescriptions, ensuring they are processed accurately and efficiently

g.Clinically code data on SystmOne

h.Photocopy documentation as required

entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required

data into patients healthcare records as necessary

patient correspondence as necessary

patient related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients healthcare records

requests for information, , SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team

all queries as necessary in an efficient manner

out system searches as requested

p.Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times

q.Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards

r.Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota

and monitor stationery supplies

t.Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
