NHS Lanarkshire is seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as Deputy Director of Acute Services. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the delivery of acute healthcare services across our region.

The Role

The Deputy Director of Acute Services at NHS Lanarkshire oversees the operational delivery of all aspects of the Access Division across our three acute hospitals. They are responsible for developing and implementing a transformation and reform programme to modernise and redesign Acute Services. Key responsibilities include:

1. Developing, implementing, and monitoring the Board’s flow improvement strategy, Operation Flow.
2. Collaborating with the Interface Director and Hospital Site Directors to enhance patient flow.
3. Leading the transformation of Acute Services within limited resources to provide sustainable, effective services.
4. Ensuring services align with Realistic Medicine principles and utilise innovation and digital opportunities.

As the formal deputy to the Director of Acute Services, they attend NHS Lanarkshire Board meetings, chair divisional management meetings, and work with senior colleagues to support core clinical services and the Waiting Times Improvement Plan. The role is also involved in participating in the Corporate management and governance of NHS Lanarkshire and being part of an On-Call rota.
