Senior Healthcare Assistant

You must be a UK resident with a working visa to apply and be considered.
We are looking for experienced or ambitious carers who can take on a Senior position, or who are willing to train with us to become a Senior Healthcare Assistant.
What does the role entail?
Wellness: Encourage participation in physical, cognitive, spiritual and creative activities to promote wellness.
Resident Administration: Support the care team with tasks as required, including but not limited to: medication administration, new resident admissions and transfers of care (e.g. to and from hospital/ appointments).
Leadership: Lead and support the care team, following excellent clinical practice to ensure the floor runs smoothly; actively monitoring care practices, identifying and responding to the changing needs of residents. Act as a role model and mentor for staff, demonstrating best practices in care and creating a supportive learning environment for them by being patient, kind and open. Carry out supervisions with staff members, ensuring you are providing constructive feedback to support development.
Care Plans: Update care plans regularly, taking a collaborative approach that ensures the residents’ needs are communicated effectively.
Independence: Encourage residents to maintain independence wherever possible, providing support as needed but ensuring they feel a sense of autonomy.
Dignity: Ensure all residents are treated with respect and dignity, preserving their privacy, self-esteem and always offering choice.
Safe working: Adhere to all company policies and regulatory guidelines, including infection control measures, to ensure a safe, compliant and professional work environment. Ensure procedures are correctly followed and accurate records of care are documented and communicated effectively across the care team.

What skills, qualifications or attributes do I need?
Strong Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively and confidently with elderly residents, their families, and the care team.
Experience and Training: NVQ Level 2 or 3 and/or relevant experience in medication administration, care planning and the delivery of care to residents.
Passion for Wellness: A genuine enthusiasm for promoting wellness and a commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents.
Empathy and Compassion: A calm, caring personality with a deep understanding of the importance of holistic care.

Cherry Tree House is a multi-award winning private care home situated in the beautiful and quiet residential area of Wendover. Cherry Tree House has a wonderful reputation for providing the highest levels of care to residents in a welcoming and relaxed environment. The home provides residential and mild dementia care for up to 20 people.
