The Role

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Head of Child & Adult Protection, Professional Lead for Child Protection and with partner agencies to develop a high quality child protection service, in line with national guidance, contributing to the strategic planning and development relating to Child Protection.

Implement Child Protection Case Supervision for identified staff groups. Provide higher specialist advice in relation to the case management of vulnerable children including those in need of protection. You will contribute towards the development and implementation of support systems and training for practitioners within NHS Lanarkshire.

You will work in partnership with member agencies of Child Protection Committee Sub Groups/Task Groups and be active in maintaining and further developing professional links with other local and national organisations. You will Provide specialist professional support, advice and supervision in Child Protection for all clinical staff.

What we'll need you to bring

Registered General Nurse/Registered Midwife with valid NMC registration. Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level. Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.  Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality. Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality. Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in speciality and applying clinical judgement. Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership.  Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification. The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate and influence others and work using own initiative. A full, valid UK/EU/EEA drivers licence

It would be great if you also have

Post Graduate Qualification relevant to area of practice eg Certificate in Child Protection Studies (working towards may be Considered depending on experience)

Broad experience and knowledge of working in child protection and in partnership working across agencies.

Sound knowledge and understanding of current legislation, policies, procedures and guidance pertaining to child protection.

Overseas Applicants – Please note you must meet Nursing and Midwifery Council UK's requirements to be a registered nurse or midwife as well as be a registered Health Visitor with Specialist Practice Qualifications (SPQ) by undertaking and passing either International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or Occupational English Test(OET)

Nursing and Midwifery Council UK's Computer Based Test of competence (CBT)

Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE), which can only be taken on arrival in the UK.
