We are seeking a skilled and dedicated School Nurse to join our team at NHS Scotland. As a School Nurse, you will play a vital role in promoting the health and wellbeing of school-aged children and young people.
Key Responsibilities- Work autonomously as part of the school nursing team to promote health and wellbeing in schools.
- Conduct health surveillance and screening to detect signs of ill health and abnormalities.
- Support independent lifestyle choices to promote health in both the school and community setting.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to children and young people.
- Develop and implement health education programs to promote healthy lifestyles and prevent illness.
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration.
- Excellent team working skills with the ability to work using own initiative.
- Effective listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Working knowledge of basic information technology.
- Evidence of further education/Continuous Professional Development.
- Experience working within a community setting.
- Experience working with children.
- Knowledge of the immunisation programme for children age 5-19.
- Awareness and understanding of child protection issues and protocol.
This is a part-time position, working 30 hours per week during term time.
The salary for this position will be pro-rata.
This is a fixed-term post until March 31st 2025.
