Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated School Nurse to join our team in promoting the health and wellbeing of school-aged children and young people. As a School Nurse, you will work autonomously as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver healthcare services and support the health and wellbeing of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver healthcare services to students, including health surveillance and screening, and provide support for students with health needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to promote the health and wellbeing of students.
  • Develop and implement health education programs to promote healthy lifestyles and prevent illness.
  • Conduct health assessments and provide health advice to students, parents, and teachers.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive healthcare services to students.
  • Participate in health promotion activities and events to promote the health and wellbeing of students.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of student health information.
  • Stay up-to-date with current healthcare practices and policies.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of child health and development.
  • Experience working with children and young people.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Evidence of further education or Continuous Professional Development.
  • Experience working in a community setting.
  • Knowledge of the immunisation program for children aged 5-19.
  • Awareness and understanding of child protection issues and protocol.
