Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our haemato-oncology service as part of Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.

The successful applicant will be predominantly based on our inpatient ward 4 and bone marrow transplant unit (ward 5) with some shift and weekend working on a rota basis alongside medical colleagues.

We are seeking highly motivated nurses with knowledge in haemato-oncology with advanced practice skills, confident decision-making skills, excellent communicator, innovative and with a passion to always improve.

If you want to be part of our ANP team and help support the Trust with our vision for providing the best cancer care in the country, then we want to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job will be to help support and build our CAR-T service. CAR-T is a highly complex and innovative new treatment. It is a type of immunotherapy which involves collecting and using the patients' own immune cells to treat their condition.

You will be required to have the necessary skills to independently undertake history taking, physical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, evaluation of care and nurse prescribing while adhering to the NMC Code of Conduct.

The ANP role at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre aligns with the advanced practice framework to ensure our underpinning standards are consistent with the 4 pillars of advanced level practice. Skills include physical assessment, clinical examination and decision making, as well as independent prescribing and high level procedural skills such as undertaking bone marrow biopsies.

First Level Registered Nurse Professional Registration with Regulatory body MSc in Advanced Nursing Practice Non-medical prescribing qualification with portfolio supporting attainment of competency NMC Approved mentor course/or equivalent Advanced Communication qualification Advanced Life Support qualification
