Fantastic opportunity to work as part of Stockport NHS FT's Children's Speech and Language Therapy team.

This position will involve working across a range of needs and ages, supporting children and their families at Universal, Targeted and Specialist levels. The post is most likely to be based in schools across Stockport although some clinic work or home visits may be included.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and dynamic Speech and Language Therapists who will provide an excellent service to the young people of Stockport.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will hold a Degree/Masters level qualification or equivalent and be a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. They will also be registered as a Speech and Language Therapist with the HCPC. Applicants in advance of qualifying in the Summer of 2024 are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will have a good grasp of the SEND Code of Practice, universal, targeted and specialist approaches and experience of working with partners to achieve the best possible outcomes.

For those candidates wanting to start at Band 6 level, successful candidates will have worked autonomously for a minimum of 2 years at Band 5 level.

Excellent communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work both as part of a team and autonomously.

Job responsibilities

The successful candidates will be based at a community venue but will be working out in settings / schools /family hubs throughout Stockport.

The post involves working directly with children with a range of SLCN and alongside their families, paediatric health and education staff to provide universal and targeted intervention approaches as well as detailed assessment. This may be through 1:1, small group, whole class/school and involves coaching and training for the wider workforce and / or parents.

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £ This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary.

In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
