Position Overview
This role offers a unique opportunity to join the dedicated team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, focusing on the speech and language therapy needs of children.
Work Schedule
This position is part-time, operating during term time only.
Eligibility
We welcome applications from Band 5 therapists, including those newly qualified, who are interested in a progression opportunity.
Role Responsibilities
The successful candidate will engage with children across various age groups and needs, providing support to both the children and their families at different intervention levels. The primary work settings will include educational institutions, with potential for clinic visits or home assessments.
We seek a passionate and proactive Speech and Language Therapist who is committed to delivering high-quality services to the youth of Stockport.
Key Duties
The ideal candidate will possess a Degree or Master's level qualification in Speech and Language Therapy and hold membership with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) is also required. We encourage applications from those who are nearing qualification.
Applicants should demonstrate a solid understanding of the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Code of Practice, as well as experience in universal, targeted, and specialist approaches to therapy. Experience collaborating with various partners to achieve optimal outcomes is essential.
For candidates aiming for a Band 6 position, a minimum of two years of autonomous practice at Band 5 is required.
Strong communication skills are crucial, along with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Job Responsibilities
The successful candidates will primarily work in community settings, providing direct support to children with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) and collaborating with their families and educational staff. This role includes delivering universal and targeted interventions, conducting assessments, and offering training and coaching to parents and the wider workforce.

Additional Requirements
Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check, with the associated cost deducted from the first salary payment. Additionally, joining the DBS update service and paying the annual subscription fee is a condition of employment.
Essential Skills and Experience
