ElectricalSupport EngineerResponsibilities

  • ManageElectrical tasks testing protocols and issues in conjunction withthe Senior Mechanical Engineer and Head of Engineering.
  • Developand manage the company Job Pack system for all electrically biasedJob Packs.
  • Ownand manage all companies electrically biased Concessions.
  • Ownand manage all companies electrically biased Engineering Changes(ECs).
  • Ownthe creation review development certification and management ofelectrically biased BoMs.
  • Ownthe management of all electrically biased data manuals drawingsinformationetc.
  • Determinedesign / select and reverse engineer electrical components systemsand test equipment.
  • Carryout electrically biased investigations analyses research andassessments to support NCRs customer complaints warranty claimsfault diagnosis casualties overhaul activities creation of COIsmethod statements manuals work instructions RAMS etc.
  • Conductcondition assessments and failure analyses and produce reports forinternal use and externally for customer purposes (jointinvestigations warranty claims etc.
  • Assistpurchasing with supplier selection and assessment.
  • Supportthe Quality Manager as required.
  • Investigateassess analyse calculate research evaluate measure benchmark etc.physical assets data drawings information parts systemsetc.
  • Supportallbrands projects to include parts selection parts analysisreverse engineering and any other specialist advice as required toachieve the project outputs and objectives.
  • Actas special process coordinator for wiring responsible forvalidating the relevant work instructions personnel competenciescontrol methods and documented information comply with theapplicable standards by completing annual process audits atlocations completing safety criticalwork.

ElectricalSupport EngineerRequirements

  • Experiencedengineer with a minimum HNC/HND qualification (or equivalent) in anelectrical / electronic / avionics (Electrically biased)engineeringdiscipline.
  • Adegree in an Electrically biased engineering discipline would bepreferable.
  • Aminimum of 2 years design experience it is preferable that you haveat least 4 years. You will possess a good balance of general designengineering reverse engineering and rail experience is preferredbut experience from other sectors will beconsidered.
  • Asolid working knowledge and grasp of electrical fundamentalsprinciples and their application to products fault diagnosisanalyses anddesign.
  • Knowledgeof rail products electrical testing systems fault diagnosis androot cause analysis inparticular for: couplers final drives motorgear units cooler groups transmissions electrical heads contactboxes uncoupling switches jumper cables sensors gaugesmotors.
  • Knowledgeof engineering standards and regulations pertaining to railoperations such as RSSB RISAS RISQS TFL/LUL.
  • Knowledgeof electrical assets and systems from other sectors includingmarine oil and gas industrial gearboxes/ motors/ pumps/ valvessensors instrumentation condition monitoringtesting.
  • Familiarin the use of CAD systems NX andTeamCenter.
  • Knowledgeof SAP and ERP systems and understanding ofOPEX
  • Knowledgeof ISO 9001:2015 qualitySystem
  • Knowledgeof NPI and system design requirements capture component selectionFMECA system integration testing system validation andverification.
