Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual who is seeking an exciting opportunity to develop their career, manage a portfolio of operational change and improvement across multiple specialty services to achieve improved quality outcomes and experience for patients.

You will be instrumental in leading operational process improvement to deliver excellent patient care, while supporting our staff to work as effectively as possible. we need to reduce variation in our ways of working to ensure we have consistent, high quality services that provide caring at it's best.

This role will work closely with our service line leads and clinicians to identify, map, plan and deliver improvements to service pathways and processes in a range of areas, and to share successes across clinical services.

Main duties of the job

The role of the Quality Improvement Lead will be to manage and support the development and delivery of a portfolio of change and improvement projects across the Trust in relation to System Emergency Care & Discharge.

This will include managing specific work streams and oversee projects to achieve the intended benefits set out in the specific project briefs. The Quality Improvement Lead is responsible for the day-to-day management of a project; start up, maintaining, supporting, facilitating, monitoring progress, closing, and evaluating the work streams.

By supporting the programme, the Quality Improvement Lead will work with the Heads of Nursing System and Emergency care and Discharge Improvement to identify, plan, monitor and support areas of work that support the delivery of the projects.

The Quality Improvement Lead will be required to bring together staff from all areas of the organisation to support the delivery of projects in relation to 'flow in', 'flow through' and 'flow out' of the Trust.

The post holder will be responsible for developing and monitoring detailed action plans working alongside Clinical Management Group (CMG)Senior teams

Leadership:

To support with the specified work stream in the delivery of project To support the specified work streams ensuring effective communication and effective staff engagement in the development of ideas and projects that deliver improvement. Build strong influential relationships with staff at all levels involved in the work stream. Act as a leader for change ensuring that all activities and plans are effective and fresh, and in line with the latest thinking.

Planning. Development and Delivery

Bring leadership and provide support to the Trust wide work streams which will help deliver the overall Reconfiguration Programme through the development of: Operational Policies, Design Briefs, transitional plans operational commissioning of facilities and post project Support the delivery of the work programme, ensuring projects are organised, managed, and reported within the PMO Project Management Process. Ensure a focus on objectives which deliver the highest standards of efficiency with no adverse impact on quality. Ensure a consistent approach and process for the management of projects that underpin the work stream, utilising the agreed PMO process for Project Management. Develop relevant project management documentation to scope, develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate projects. Identify interdependencies with other work streams / projects and manage accordingly, ensuring a holistic approach to Co-ordinate and Chair project meetings co-ordinating meetings, agendas, leading the format of the meeting whilst also contributing and assisting in the implementation of key work Utilise a range of service improvement tools to underpin and progress the work stream. Apply creativity and innovation techniques to the projects including learning from other hospitals and from non-healthcare Ensure that evidence-based practice is fully and effectively deployed in all project work. Support the development of relevant policies and guidance within areas of responsibility. Throughout delivery monitor progress and work with stakeholders to ensure actions are completed on time and in budget, escalating any issues and offer solutions to potential risks and To provide regular feedback and update on reports, issues, and risks.
