Senior Specialist Eating Disorder Dietitian(Community Eating Disorders Service)

We are looking for a Band 6 SeniorDietitian to join the Community Eating Disorder Service (CEDS)based atWonford House, Exeter. Experience and an interest in eating disorders is essential, we will provide a range of training opportunities that can help you develop the skills you need.

We are a dynamic and innovativemulti-disciplinary team, providing eating disorder evidence basedinterventions and assessments and across the DPT footprintin Devon (excepting Plymouth).

We strive to integrate psychiatric andphysical care which is essential in the managing of our complex patient needs.This involves close links with GP surgeries and CMHTs plus local hospitals and specialist eating disorder in-patient units.

We have a wide range of skills andexperience as a multi-professional team with a variety of staff groups,which include a Consultant Psychiatrist, Specialist Doctors,Dietitians, Nurses, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, SocialWorkers, Assistant Practitioners and Peer Support Workers, Physical health clinician along with Admin support.

Each patient has a named clinician within the teamwho supports them with their psychological health and wellbeing and deliverspsychologically informed interventions. Every person's treatment isindividualised and we aim to deliver specialist client-centred care, which inspireshope & recovery for our patient group and their family and carers.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will play a keyrole in managing a specialist caseload of patients with complex nutritional andpsychiatric needs, using evidence based and person centered principles toassess, plan, implement and evaluate nutrition treatment plans.

The post holderwill have the opportunity to have training and supervision in relation to both thepsychiatric, physical & nutritional health components of eatingdisorders and wider mental health difficulties, alongside support to help developthe necessary skills needed to manage the complex nutritional needs of thispatient population.

The post holder will workalongside CEDS colleagues to ensure that the service can provide compassionateand holistic recovery focused care to address the nutritional needs of peoplewith eating disorders and other mental disorders.

The post holder will contributeto the management of resources within the clinical and professional area, nutritional products, equipment and literature, will act as a resource onnutritional issues to the multidisciplinary team across the Trust, promotinghealthy lifestyle and good nutrition for all individuals that use the servicesand to provide relevant staff training.

The post holder will contributeto the planning, developing and evaluation of the dietetic service within theTrust.

Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or post-graduate diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics Health Professions Council registration as a dietitian Evidence of continued professional development Post registration training or experience in mental health/eating disorders

Desirable

Motivational interviewing or counselling skills PENG clinical update (parenteral and enteral nutrition group of the BDA) Food hygiene certificate

Experience

Essential
