Please note: TheTDP is open Monday through Friday 7a 5p currently and will soonexpand to a 7 day per weekschedule.

THEOPPORTUNITY:

The Transitional DayProgram (TDP) is a dropin center for homeless youth 1824 years oldin Boston. Youth utilizing the TDP are typically sleeping outsidestaying in emergency shelters or couch surfing. The TDP offerssurvival services (food showers laundry & clothing) as wellas intensive case management and support services to help youthmove beyond the streets into safe and stable housing. The TDPCounselor is responsible for overseeing the program milieu buildingtherapeutic rapport with youth and providing case managementservices.


KEYRESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise the program Milieu / Dropin
  • Effective crisis management/interventionskills
  • Administer/coordinate YYA basicneeds and survival services; including breakfast lunch showerslaundry computer games field trips outings and physicalexercise
  • Provide/facilitate skillsbuilding group activities andworkshops
  • Intensive case management; includinginitiating referrals as needed
  • Connect YYAwith opportunities to engage services; including educationemployment housing mental healthcare and substance abuseservices
  • Required to stand walk andsit.Routinely lifts carries and moves materials weighing 25 pounds.

PublicRelations

  • Serve asliaison/advocate between Bridge YYA and the community
  • Attend/ represent Bridge at community and external eventsas needed
  • Responsible for building andmaintaining effective partnerships between Bridge and collateralorganizations; with special attention to city and state partneringorganizations
  • Actively recruit YYA eligiblefor TDP services

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Applicantswith their Bachelors in Social Work or a related fieldrequired.
  • 2 years or more of experience workingwith youth and young adults (1824 years) please apply.

COMPENSATION&BENEFITS:

$20/hr
