An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Psychologist to join the Central Youth Service. We work with 14-25 year old young people and their families across Norfolk. The successful candidate would be based at 80 St Stephens in Norwich. We welcome applications from those who wish to work part-time or full-time.

The Central Youth Team is undergoing a process of service transformation, with a strong vision of improving young people's experience of the service, and creating a workforce that feels empowered in working towards the flourishing of young people's mental health and wellbeing. The Youth Team comprises a supportive, friendly, and caring MDT that is motivated to provide quality care to young people, and also support each other in this endeavour. This is a chance for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join the team and contribute to our work.

Please note that we currently have 2x vacancies in our Central Youth Teams. One of these positions is in our North Norfolk Youth Team, and on in our South Norfolk Youth Team. Both are primarily based in 80 St Stephen's Road, Norwich.

Main duties of the job

My name's Keir Brisbane and I am the new Service Manager for the Youth Service.

In our service we support young people (aged 14-25 years) who are experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties. We have enthusiastic and skilled staff who provide the support that is needed - and they are motivated to make a real difference to young people, their families and carers.

As an employer, I and Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust are particularly committed to enabling our staff to do the very best they can through support and training, as well as opportunities for progression. We are confident, therefore, that the right candidate will have a real chance to make a positive impact to the lives of young people in Norfolk.

Our service provides a context to develop direct clinical skills. We offer a range of evidence-based interventions to support young people with mental health difficulties, such as: CBT, EMDR, DBT, MBT, and Family Therapy. Training in these or other areas will be encouraged and supported, in line with service needs.

As a service we are striving to meet the challenges that we are facing, and to create a working environment that is sustainable, effective for our young people, and fulfilling for our staff.

We have links with the UEA and have offered placements for Trainee Clinical Psychologists and Clinical Associates in Psychology.

About us

Here at NSFT we pride ourselves on being a welcoming, talented, friendly and supportive team who like nothing better than sharing experiences and learning from each other. We have excellent shopping, eating out, top ranking schooling and affordable house prices too.
