SUMMARY:

Ensures the smooth running of theFacilities/ITprovisioninthe school

Full-time, 6 days per week

CORE SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:

Highly motivated,proactiveand positive, creative & energetic with lots of common sense as key Ability to work independently with decision makingskills Basic knowledge of general maintenance, decorating, grounds maintenance, furniture assembly, building work & DIY, a hands onapproach Basic understanding of Health and Safety Enjoys working in busy & varied environment Organised with attention to detail Enjoys working under pressure & able to meet tight deadlines Customer service minded and quality oriented Ability to handledifficult situationswith ease & remain calm & positive under pressure Good communication & people skills Flexible attitude to work and creative problem solver Have the right to live and work in the UK Clean background check

OBJECTIVES:

To ensure that all health and safety issues are treated as priority and criteria of accrediting bodies with regards to health and safety are met

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

FACILTIES:

Ensures building is kept in premium condition by carrying out routine building checksand following up on issues Liaises with external maintenance contractors while onsite Maintains& replenishessupplies of maintenance stock Basic Decorating & paintwork asrequired Performsregular safety checks such as ensuring fire doors are closing properly, fire signs are in place, fire alarm & emergency lighting equipment is functioning, fire blankets & extinguishers are in place and not tampered withetc. Performsregular risk assessments of buildings & grounds, notifying line manager of any concerns Acts as Health & Safety Officer, ensuring that legal requirements and procedures aremaintained, and policiesfollowed Ensures all classrooms are adequatelyfurnished, clean, well presented andappropriate forlearning needs Ensures that living and leisure areas are adequatelyfurnished, clean, well presented andappropriate forrequired use Manages list of maintenance issues, ensures repairs are promptly carried out and feedback given to staff reporting issues Monitors school courtyard and social areas during break-times Ensuresappropriate signageis in place and notice boards are organised & effective Dealswith student enquiries & requests asrequired Checksfurnishings regularly for any adjustments or repairsrequired Checksall light fittings & replace bulbs asrequired Tidying up corridors, toilets, courtyard as required Assistswith cleaning ifrequired Other general maintenance / caretaker duties Assembly and move furniture/other items around the site asrequired Tours buildings regularly to ensure any Health and Safety issues are urgently addressed and the building ismaintainedto the highest possible standards

GENERAL:

Able to open and close the schoolwhen needed Supports the team with maintenance and cleaning issues, including liaising with cleaners and contractors. Takes pride in the look and feel of schoolandcampus andhelps to keep the buildings fit for purposeand customer friendly
