Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Cancer Services Team at a multi-award winning Trust. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to significantly contribute to improving Cancer Services for the people of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

This post will support the Cancer Improvement Programme Manager to deliver schemes within the surgical divisions cancer action plans.

Whilst the post-holder will work under the guidance and mentorship of the Cancer Improvement Programme Manager, the post holder will be based within the division, and there will be a key requirement to build relationships and work alongside clinical and operation staff within the surgical division in order to deliver assigned projects.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for implementation of cancer pathway improvement actions for cancer pathways within Surgery, Anaesthetics & Critical Care Division and be responsible for a suite of discreet workstreams to which they will be accountable.

The post holder will implement the pathway review and redesign to enable improvement developments for business planning and service needs.

The main responsibilities of the post holder include;

To develop effective working relationships to understand and deliver key support requirements.

To identify and co-ordinate the development and implementation of improvement opportunities. Monitor and act upon performance activity to ensure effective and efficient performance monitoring systems are in place. The post holder will support the service development and performance improvement, developing and implementing policy for that area, which may have wider implications. May be required to undertake audit work as necessary to own work area, and gather research data, using research methodology, as a regular feature of the work. Work alongside the surgery division and the Cancer Service to ensure projects are on track.
