We have a new post commencing within the breast administrative team to work alongside existing staff. The role is develop safe pathways through diagnostics and recall arrangements. The post holder will be expected to liaise with clinical staff within breast and radiology services and to communicate well with patients. This will be a demanding post and we would like to appoint a motivated individual who has a proven track record of being organised, calm and able to solve problems.
- The Breast service is a cross site service seeing approximately 8000 patients per year. The service covers benign breast work malignant diagnoses and continues annual surveillance and follow up for patients who have had breast cancer or who are at higher risk of developing the disease.
- The post-holder will be based at the Sutton site and be primarily responsible for the patient administration and communications within the diagnostic service and those patients on annual surveillance. There will be HR administrative tasks associated with supporting the breast teams to maintain the efficient running of the service across both sites. The duties of this post will be varied and the post holder will need to become proficient in the use of various IT systems that underpin the administrative tasks.
- The post holder will be expected to be able to communicate with patients and manage occasionally difficult conversations although there will be support for this from the clinical team.
- The post holder will be required to understand the organisational and management structure.
- The post holder will liaise with and be expected to build good working relationships with clinical, nursing and radiology staff in order to ensure smooth running of services.

- Be familiar with using the hospital computer systems to access data and patient data as necessary.
- Be familiar with using EPIC and the radiotherapy booking system to access patient appointments.
- Take part in the management of patient pathways, appointments, and information needs for diagnostic and surveillance recall pathways
- Responsible for timely and accurate response and redirection to booking requests.
- Compile the weekly M3 meetings for both sites using existing processes within EPIC and also monitoring biopsy cell/tissue samples taken and received in pathology.
