If this sounds like you, maybe a Support Worker role with an award-winning charity is the change you’ve been looking for We are currently recruiting for a number of female Support Workers for our services across Edinburgh and Midlothian, supporting individuals to live as independently as possible in their own homes. The people we support have faced a lot of challenges in the past because of their learning disabilities, Autism and their mental and physical health issues but this hasn’t stopped them from enjoying life
They enjoy a wide range of different activities, like socialising, watching movies, arts and crafts, walking, karaoke, baking, gardening and going on holiday. However, they’re always up for trying new things, so are looking for inventive people who are up for the challenge.
Our staff team are very supportive and experienced and also provide support with daily living activities, including:
•Medication administration
•Cooking
•Personal care
•Maintaining the homes of the people we support and managing their finances
We provide support 24 hours a day, so we ask for some flexibility to work a variety of shifts. Below are the roles and locations where we currently have roles available:
Gilmerton: A 37.5-hour contract - driving license would be a bonus but not mandatory - day shifts only Niddrie: A 35-hour contract - no driving license required - days and sleepovers required Dalkeith: A 22.5-hour temporary role until April (to cover maternity leave) - days required - no overnight support AND a 37.5-hour waking night role. UK drivers would be ideal as the service is located just outside of Dalkeith
Sometimes the people we support really need a male or female person to support them. For the particular roles outlined above, a female colleague is required. This is a genuine occupational requirement as defined by the Equality Act
