Crewe, United Kingdom Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Job overview

We are currently Recruiting a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our friendly, enthusiastic and Driven Emergency care therapy team.

The Rapid Emergency Assessment Care Team (REACT) comprises of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants. We aim to avoid hospital admission by providing comprehensive Therapy assessments within the Accident and Emergency Department. Timely discharge assessments are provided for patients on the medical assessment and short stay wards. Detailed intervention plans ensure that the patient journey is streamlined and a focus on discharge planning is maintained.

Our service allows many opportunities for excellent interdisciplinary working within the team and positive relationships with medical, nursing and social care colleagues across frailty, emergency care, and community services.

Fundamental to the service model, is the team providing a 7-day service, which is rolled out over a fixed, four week repeating rota. We work slightly longer days meaning our hours are condensed over 4 days allowing for a greater work life balance. The successful candidate will be required to work one weekend, every 4 weeks.

We are a forward-thinking team, and are looking for someone who is passionate about service development from an admission avoidance perspective. Our team advocates for Quality improvement and are regularly reviewing and adapting our services to best suit the ever-changing climate.

Main duties of the job

As a clinical specialist provide a high standard comprehensive physiotherapy assessment and treatment service of patients with a wide range of conditions working as an autonomous clinician, using accurate analytical skills and clinical reasoning to interpret assessment findings, making diagnoses where appropriate, identifying patient problems, setting goals, and providing an appropriate treatment plan and progression. To be an active member of a 7 day working service. Upon completion and maintenance of on call competencies, to work unsupervised in an on-call and out of hour’s emergency service. To work autonomously to manage a defined complex patient caseload whilst working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
