Fostering Reviewing Officer

All foster carers as part of the continued approval must have an annual review completed by the supervising social worker. The Fostering Reviewing Officer role is to ensure the foster carer is complying with the fostering national minimum standards, that the fostering service is also complying and offer recommendations through the signs of safety format. 

Please note the salary advertised is full time equivalent and will be pro rata'd.

About the role

This exciting new opportunity is a part time role taking on the additional new foster carer annual reviews across Richmond, Kingston and Windsor & Maidenhead.

This will be a job share role with the two fostering reviewing officers already in the service. You will report to the fostering Head of Service. This is a hybrid role where you will:

complete the majority of annual review meetings for foster carers in their homes, on occasion as case by case, some reviews can be done virtually report writing

About you

To join Achieving for Children as the next Fostering Reviewing Officer you will be: 

Educated to degree level with appropriate professional Social Work qualification Have an active Social Work England registration and proven evidence of CPD Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of Children Act 1989 and 2004, Fostering Regulations and National Minimum Standards, care planning legislation, reviewing officer regulations; including awareness of current national policy, evidence based research and best practice that affects children’s social care Previous experience in working in a fostering team setting and working with children social care Previous experience supervising foster carers; completing annual reviews, standards of cares and safeguarding monitoring Demonstrated experience in assessment writing including form F, Form C
