Job summary

The post holder will provide a comprehensive secretarial, administration and information service across the Community and Wellbeing Network, coordinating their activities with other members of the Business Administration Team to ensure an efficient and confidential service is provided.

The post holder will provide a high standard of secretarial support specifically to the Central and West Locality, Greater Preston Admin Hub undertaking a wide range of secretarial duties including typing clinical letters. In additional the post holder will be expected to maintain and update in-house electronic systems and should possess an excellent knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher Microsoft packages.

The post holder will be based at the Minerva Health Centre with the Greater Preston Admin Hub but will be expected to travel between sites within the Central and West locality footprint and be required to work flexibly.

The post holder will be required to provide departmental cover as directed by their administrative line manager to ensure continuity of a quality service provision and, on occasions, act up on behalf of the Team Leader.

Main duties of the job

Post holders will have a range of duties including monitoring of electronic work logs and electronic diary management. However, audio typing of complex medical letters and documents will be the main element of the role therefore excellent typing speed, accuracy and previous experience of audio transcription are essential. An excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook are required.

The post requires excellent organisational skills including medical audio-typing and some live typing. The post holder will utilise a range of technical skills including word-processing, email and computerised diary systems, and employ a range of electronic systems relating to clinical records.
