Exciting Opportunity: Project Manager at RMH
 
RMH is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to oversee multiple high-value projects across various clinical and non-clinical settings. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from inception through to completion, ensuring timely delivery, high quality, and client satisfaction.
 
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets
- Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and issues
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations
- Facilitate effective communication and decision-making throughout the project lifecycle
 
Requirements:
- Minimum of 18 months of project management experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Proven track record of successful project delivery
- Strong communication and matrix management skills
- PRINCE2 Practitioner certification (preferred)
- Ability to travel to various NHS sites in London as required
 
This position is based at our offices in Wallington, with travel to other NHS sites as necessary.

Main duties of the job

RMH has a portfolio of diverse and complex projects to deliver key systems and infrastructure that support the delivery of the highest quality services for both staff and patients alike.
The Project Manager will manage several different projects within the IT Portfolio and the post holder will work on projects as needed.
The post holder will be based at Sutton and will be required to travel to Chelsea as the projects demand.

In addition to Project Management skills the Project Manager will have excellent skills in one or more of the following areas:

• Facilitation and mentoring
• Testing and systems quality assurance
• System migration / integration strategy
• Systems implementation

Education / Qualifications

Essential criteria

Educated to degree level or equivalent experience Prince 2 Foundation level or equivalent project management experience

Desirable criteria

Detailed knowledge of project planning, implementation & project management gained through experience of using formal project planning tools Practical experience and an understanding of how to adapt standard methodologies such as Prince2 to suit the project at hand

Demonstrable experience of working in a complex change environment with multiple stakeholders and securing their engagement to deliver change Experience of influencing staff at all levels to ensure that all members of the team including users and stakeholders own project objectives Experience of working across organisational boundaries to achieve results Detailed knowledge of the NHS & implementation of projects in a hospital environment Demonstrable experience of managing project budgets

Desirable criteria

Experience in Requirements Gathering Experience of organising training for projects

Essential criteria

Ability to communicate confidently with staff at all levels, including external Senior Management and at Board level meetings Must have excellent presentation and report writing skills Skilled in negotiation and influencing techniques including the ability to challenge and reality test other’s positions constructively Able to collect, collate multi-stranded data from a variety of sources Regularly analysing highly complex and detailed information Proven strong organisational, project management and time management skills Ability to prioritise workload of others while balancing own workload(s) Experience of a range of IT programmes Using strong proven capability with MS Office applications including Excel & PowerPoint Proficient in the use of MS Project or an equivalent tool Must have excellent written and verbal skills showing ability to clearly explain very complex processes and procedures relating to IT hardware and software, and their interaction with each other and relate this to other job roles

Experience of communicating effectively with all levels of staff in the NHS, with technical staff and suppliers Experience of using judgement in projects to differentiate between critical path tasks and non-critical Proven ability in sifting through information provided by technical staff, managerial staff and suppliers to extract the important criteria for successful outcomes in managing a project Proven ability to engage all stakeholders and include the right tasks in the work breakdown structure of a project plan Use of MS Visio or equivalent Experience of business analysis

Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to a common cold, through to very severe or even fatal disease.

The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the upmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.
