**PPMA**Business Education Skills and Training (PPMA BEST) is a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) established in 2014. Our principal purpose is to support employers and encourage more young people to enter and develop a career in engineering within the processing, packaging, robotics, automation and industrial vision supply industries through education, training and support.

**A new opportunity to**:

- Take a lead in developing the activities of this Charity.
- Publicise and promote technical careers in the industries supported by PPMA.
- Develop and support the activities of the Trust.
- Assist with the formulation of the marketing and development strategy, including an up- to- date social media presence on all the appropriate platforms as well as video and other content for relevant media.
- Co-ordinate training and education with the PPMA Ltd training and education programme
**Main Duties**
- Hosting and contributing to activities to promote BEST, its aims and purposes, to PPMA members, potential donors and potential recipients, their teachers, lecturers and trainers (Year 12 upwards).
- Attending careers fairs and other events to promote the opportunities and support available in the industries and sectors supported by PPMA and BEST.
- Exploring the availability of government grants for training.
- Assisting where needed, with the promotion and organisation of STEM days. Liaising with the appointed trainer and helping to provide STEM activities to schools linked to PPMA/BARA and UKIVA members.
- Assisting with the development and maintenance of the BEST website content and style**.**:

- Confirming and promoting a path from apprentice to Chartered Engineer, and helping to publicising the opportunities this offers.
- Directing and assisting the appointed marketing agency to develop and maintain high quality and appropriate marketing material in the appropriate formats.
- Ensuring the PPMA lobbying activities are supported by BEST material and input where appropriate.
- Liaising with and co-operating with other training providers and organisations to provide BEST sponsored recruits with the appropriate education and training at a competitive rate.
- Securing funding from other sources
- Keeping the trustees regularly informed about the activities and developments Staffing
**Key Performance Indicators**
- Number of grants, bursaries and awards approved.
- Regular, high quality and appropriate social media posts, profile, and traffic
- Amount of additional (non-PPMA) funding secured.
- Number of new STEM support (PPMA member) contacts passed to the STEM-day co-ordinator.
- Creation of events programme in conjunction with PPMA
- Development of a business plan and a longer-term outline plan (3/5 years)
- Quality and usage (hits) on BEST website
- Reporting on the "marketplace" and BEST's position in it with reference to data and studies available from outside the industry - general trends, employment figures, benchmarking, etc.
**Person Specification**:

- Project manager - able to create, develop oversee and deliver activities and content to students, PPMA members and other stakeholders to a quality and timetable.
- A good communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Highly developed knowledge of, and interest in engineering, automation, education, and training
- Strong desire to encourage and educate the next generation of industry/automation engineers (technicians/trainees/ employees?)
- Able to source, organise and deliver content for regular social media posts.
- The ability to manage the content, style and delivery of media posts and press releases, articles etc. and report on their reach.
- Ability to influence and assist in the creation of high-quality website and social media content, report on the performance and develop/improve the utility and content.
