Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced Head of Finance who is able to manage a professional team of Accountants who provide financial and company secretarial services to Companies created through PFI and LIFT.

Reporting to the Director SPV Services, your main focuses will be to understand long-term financial modelling governed by contractual boundaries, arrange and converse with audit with a strong financial understanding of FRS102 34.12, cultivate and develop strong relationships with SPV clients, and act as the point of escalation for any issues. You will also act on behalf of the shareholders to provide robust processes and interpret board-level requirements in compliance with service agreements, MSAs.

In order to develop these relationships, there will be some UK travel for the role.

The main responsibilities of the Service Engineer are:

  • Comprehend and interpret financial regulations, with the ability to make decisions which will benefit the SPV Co’s, G4S and the wider contractual portfolio.
  • Effective management and motivation of an established professional team; review and assess performance to build capability and support their professional development to maintain effective working relationships with multiple external stakeholders and business professionals and to optimize their contribution.
  • Create board level financial information with the ability to present and discuss financial data at board level.
  • Understanding of the LSE and NSM for annual and semi-annual reporting requirements of a Plc.
  • Produce and interpret statutory accounting reporting. Able to provide, discuss and clarify financial evidence to audit partners ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Production of business and internal budgets and forecasts.
  • Understanding of dividend processes ensuring the directors of the SPVs are protected in their decision to process these payments to the shareholders.
  • Using big data analytics and advanced excel capability to comprehend large, complex long-term forecast models which need to be maintained under strict contractual boundaries that provide lenders and shareholders with future return and identify potential risks.
  • Providing governance and assurance; ensuring company compliance with applicable Company House policies.
  • Annual establishment of insurance placement for complex property businesses.
  • Comprehension and understanding of long term Loans and SWAPs and effectiveness requirements.
  • Sign-off of monthly payment runs for multiple companies.
  • Day to day oversight management of the SPV's financial responsibilities including the efficient resolution of any problems
  • Review and present board reports, exec reports and act as company secretary as and when required.

  • 5 years post-qualification professional accountancy experience (ACA, ACCA)

  • Ability to understand complex contractual requirements and financial models
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations
  • Strong understanding of tax calculations and compliance (VAT, Tax Returns, Capital Gains Tax)
  • Advanced Excel skills

Desirable:

  • Experience financially managing PFI and LIFT companies
  • Experience of using Sage 50 and IRIS
  • Payroll and Pension understanding and experience
  • Dividend rules
  • Company Secretarial governance rules
  • LSE and NSM rules
  • Annual LEI renewals
