An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, confident and organised individual with lots of energy who relishes a challenge, to join the melanoma team in the role of Cancer Support Worker (CSW).
The melanoma team cancer support worker will be based within the melanoma nursing team establishment.
This role will provide support to the team of nurses and also to the patients accessing this service.
Main duties of the job
We have a full time position opportunity to join our Melanoma team at MTW.
Ideally, we would welcome applications from individuals who have previous experience with supporting patients or healthcare backgrounds but know the right person for the best team fit is equally as important.
The majority of the role will entail providing direct information and support via email or telephone, and/or signposting to appropriate services for patients and their families/carers. It will also entail organising and assisting the nursing team to provide services effectively and efficiently ensuring patients queries and care can be actioned within a timely manner. The successful applicant will be processing queries and referrals, guiding and signposting clinical queries and patient queries.

Job responsibilities
Once your pre-employment checks have been completed you will be contacted by Recruitment to arrange your start date which will be in line with one of our Corporate Inductions.
Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trusts Clinical Induction Programme for Clinical Support Workers (which starts on the first day of employment). The programme is full-time (please contact the CSW Induction Programme Lead ifthis is going to be problematic: ),lasts for two weeks and will involve travelling tobothTrust sites.Theprogramme includes 2 supernumerary shiftsin the clinical area (an early and a late shift),all of the other days are classroom-based andrun from 9am to 5pm

Qualifications
Essential
GCSE English Language and Mathematics (grade A-C) or equivalent. Evidence of continued role development. NVQ Level 4 or additional training to diploma level or equivalent on health-related subject.
