SALARY: £92,677 TO £104,468 PER ANNUM PRO RATA


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a medical officer to work with the Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service in Argyll and Bute.

As an integral member of the team the candidate would work in partnership with local GPs to enhance shared care provision, providing a route to step up care for those with complex needs and would work with the core service to respond to the needs of the population to implement MAT standards with a focus on reducing drug harms and drug related deaths.

Reducing harm and promoting recovery for individuals with substance use problems is a key priority to improve the public health and well being in Argyll and Bute.

The candidate will have a clinical caseload and will be providing a comprehensive medical recovery service for those who have substance use problems and will be supported by other members of the team. You should possess good interpersonal skills and have a commitment to partnership working.

Candidates must be self-motivated and possess excellent organisational, communication and problem solving skills. The ability to work effectively within a team environment as well as individually are essential.

Candidates must be GMC registered with License to Practice, have a GP background or other background with a genuine interest in the field of substance use. Previous relevant experience is desirable.
