Product Developer - Agriculture - Harrogate / Darlington/ Home Based - ARD1014835

An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join Geo Underwriting as a Product Developer within the Agriculture division of our UK Commercial MGA. The role will be to inform and deliver market leading specialist insurance products for the Agri and rural sectors. You will deliver high performing customer focused products through continuous product review and analysis; identification of product opportunities; management of product vision and strategy, and development and implementation of product change programmes.


As the UK Commercial MGA for Ardonagh Advisory; a Gold rated Investor in Customer insurance business Geo specialise in Agriculture, Construction, Property, Liability, Marine and Protection lines, and home to top brands such as Thames Underwriting, Rural and Bravo Networks Underwriting, and continue to see successful growth both organically and through considered acquisition.
 

What does a Product Developer here do?
 

This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Collaborating with your line manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on all of the following:

Create and improve existing Geo Agriculture products to market leading status. Analyse product performance data. Provide data analysis as required by the technical team to review and model BAU performance. Conduct market and competitor research, identifying any challenges and make recommendations for improvements which meet our customers’ demands and needs. Undertake a continuous review of the existing products, identifying potential problems, and making recommendations. Identify customer needs and deliver better outcomes for customers. Use customer and data insights, and product performance and competitor insights to identify, assess and prioritise opportunities and innovative solutions. Identify opportunities to continually optimise the products commercial performance. Define product vision and strategy – design and propose product changes/ new products. Prioritise product features and capabilities.

What are we looking for in our next Product Developer?

Product Development experience, ideally in Agricultural Insurance, Commercial Combined products as a minimum. Advanced understanding of technical product performance management. Excellent knowledge and understanding of underwriting, systems, coverage, distribution channels, compliance, regulatory environment, and insurance financials. Training and coaching capability for internal and external stakeholders.
