An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced dynamic and motivated phototherapy nurse to develop and configure the service to meet both the needs of patients within the speciality.
Essential Requirements
N NMC Registered
·Post registration experience working within the clinical speciality of phototherapy
·Knowledge of equipment used to deliver phototherapy treatment
The post holder will be responsible for overseeing the treatment and management of those patients undergoing phototherapy and maintaining all aspects of the service including supporting the lead nurse in clinical governance and risk assessments. The post holder will work alongside other phototherapy nurses in providing clinical expertise and evidence-based care in assessment, treatment, and management of patients with varied dermatological conditions based in the outpatients setting.
The post holder will be supported by the phototherapy lead nurse, with opportunities to attend annual updates and training workshops.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for overseeing the treatment and management of those patients undergoing phototherapy and maintaining all aspects of the service including supporting the lead nurse in clinical governance and risk assessments. The post holder will work alongside other phototherapy nurses in providing clinical expertise and evidence-based care in assessment, treatment, and management of patients with varied dermatological conditions based in the outpatients setting.
Provide expert knowledge in the management of patient care within dermatology, working with the patient, family or other health professionals where appropriate to ensure timely nursing care to optimise outcomes in phototherapy
·Manage a case load of patients within phototherapy to ensure seamless service for outpatients
·Assess, plan, and implement care with regards to the delivery of a phototherapy service
·Act as a positive role model demonstrating high standards of care
·Identify opportunities for general health/wellness education
·The post holder will be responsible for the completion of patient records that may be written or electronic and in accordance with NMC and Trust policies
