Overview

Berry Global has two apprenticeship academies, based in Beccles, Suffolk and Oakham, Rutland, specialising in Engineering and Polymer apprenticeships and training. This role will be primarily based at Beccles leading and managing a small team of assessors and tutors. Responsibilities include ensuring the delivery of the relevant course standards, compliance with external partners including Ofsted and the awarding bodies. Making sure that the apprentices are safeguarded, nurtured and motivated to learn in a proactive and positive environment.

Qualifications

Demonstrated leadership and management skills Experience of working in education or training and an understanding of effective quality training and development Preferred experience of delivering high quality teaching and training in a workplace or classroom environment An understanding of the further education sector and Apprenticeships Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain strong working relations with all key stakeholder, colleagues and external organizations. Experience of developing and managing quality assurance processes Able to make decisions and results orientated Ability to create and maintain a positive environment for staff and learners Excellent IT skills, proficient in Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

Management

Program management, overseeing the day-to-day delivery of the Apprenticeship Programs at Beccles. Line management of apprentice assessors and tutors to ensure delivery adherence.

Resourcing

Detailed planning of the delivery of apprenticeship programmes to meet with the requirements of Berry sites. Timetabling the delivery of training to ensure programs are delivered within the resource model. Committed to continuous personal development (CPD) of the Academy team.

Quality Assurance and Enhancement

Monitoring and assessment of program quality and to identify quality enhancements of the curriculum and delivery. Ensure delivery of training meets third party compliance and regulatory requirements. Leads on audits and quality assurance initiatives. Delivering lessons when required. Organise and conduct regular observations of teaching on the apprenticeship programme, ensuring constructive feedback is given in a timely manner. Drive programme quality and identify and embed quality enhancements. Ensure best practice from apprenticeship programmes is standardised across assessors.

Other

To perform any other duties consistent with this position as may from time to time be assigned to you anywhere within the Academy. To be committed to your own development through effective use of the Academy’s performance review scheme and staff development processes. To support the delivery of the Academy’s strategy as it relates to this position. To work collaboratively with the wider business to meet the strategic plans of the academy. Ensure students are always safe, in compliance with safeguarding policies Adhere to and promote the Academy Diversity, Equality and Inclusion policy at all times. Abide by and raise awareness of health and safety in line with company policies and procedures.
