Qualified Social Worker - Childrens - Assessment Team

The assessment service plays a crucial role in supporting families and professionals. We believe that the first contact sets the tone for the entire working relationship. Our approach is built on consent, strong relationships, and collaboration with families and partners.
Key Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for managing an allocated caseload related to children, young people, and families within the local community. Your duties will include court work related to the discharge of care orders and other relevant applications. Here are the key responsibilities:
Case Management:

Manage an allocated social work caseload, ensuring timely and effective interventions.Prepare for and participate in planned court-related work, adhering to appropriate timescales.Undertake assessments in accordance with legislation, policies, and procedures, considering risk and the Framework for Assessment.Assess the needs of children and young people, determining suitable levels of intervention and service provision.Coordinate and provide necessary services, including family support packages.Child - Centred Approach:Address the needs and wishes of children during the assessment and planning process.Encourage children and young people’s participation and ensure evidence of their involvement.Collaboration and Compliance:Collaborate with partners, participating in formal case reviews and statutory meetings.Adhere to administrative and financial procedures, maintaining accurate records.Comply with supervision requirements, engage in continuous professional development, and attend formal training.Community Awareness:
  • Be responsive to the diverse needs of all community groups.
Additional Responsibilities:Fulfill other duties related to this area of work, including team duty rota membership.Participate fully in the Common Assessment Framework (CAF) process.Familiarise yourself with and adhere to safeguarding procedures.Contribute to the development of social work students.
