Qualified Social Worker - Childrens - Adoption Team

Key Responsibilities:

High-Quality Social Work Services:

  • Deliver effective social work services to meet the needs of children and families.
  • Ensure timely responses within statutory guidelines.

Assessment and Intervention:
  • Assess individual needs and plan targeted interventions.
  • Safeguard children and promote positive outcomes for adopted families.

Collaboration and Seamless Service:
  • Work closely with colleagues and partners across the adoption system.
  • Strive for seamless services that benefit children and families.

Support and Training:
  • Facilitate support groups for adoptive parents, birth families, and adult adoptees.
  • Organise training events for staff and adoptive applicants.

Team Contribution:
  • Be an enthusiastic team member, contributing to service development.
  • Participate in relevant meetings and working groups.

Administrative and Evaluation Tasks:
  • Contribute to administrative processes and monitoring systems.
  • Participate in regional and national events as appropriate.

Core Duties:

Statutory Obligations:
  • Fulfill legal responsibilities as outlined by the Regional Adoption Agencies.
  • Align actions with government guidelines, policies, and procedures.

Administrative and Financial Compliance:
  • Adhere to administrative and financial procedures set by the agency.
  • Maintain accurate records as required for transparency and accountability.

Information Technology Utilization:
  • Make effective use of IT systems used by the Regional Adoption Agencies.
  • Utilise technology for efficient service delivery.

Collaboration with professionals:
  • Engage with other professionals (both statutory and voluntary) to enhance outcomes for children and families.
  • Foster effective partnerships to achieve positive results.

Active Participation:
  • Prepare for and actively contribute to supervision processes, staff meetings, and training courses.
  • Share insights and learning to improve practice.

Community Awareness:
  • Be responsive to the diverse needs of all community segments.
  • Tailor services to address specific requirements.

Continued Learning and Knowledge Sharing:
  • Stay informed about research findings in relevant social work fields.
  • Disseminate knowledge within the team for continuous improvement.

Workload Management:
  • Prioritise adoption support work based on agency priorities.
  • Balance caseloads effectively.

Review Participation:
  • Engage in reviews and safeguarding meetings as necessary.
  • Contribute to ongoing assessments and improvements.

Qualifications:
Hold a recognised social work qualification (Degree or equivalent)Demonstrate relevant training and/or experience.Possess appropriate SWE registration.Completion of ASYE
Experience:
A Qualified Social Worker with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience, you must be registered with Social Work England. Your knowledge should cover social work practice and legislation, and you should be committed to achieving permanency for children through adoption. Experience in completing adoption assessments within various agency settings is essential. Additionally, you’ll need the ability to work autonomously and be willing to travel within the county for this role.
