Overall purpose of the job:

Exponential-e is in the market for an experienced Sales Engineer to support Presales / Solution Consultants and Sales Teams across all Four Pillars of the solution designs, with a primary focus on Networks, SD-WAN, SASE and Cyber Security. 

Bridging the gap between our front-end and back-end Engineering-led business functions, our Sales Engineers have a great opportunity to develop and enhance their capabilities, growing their IT solutions skills across our four Cornerstones. We are looking for a candidate who is energetic, willing to learn all aspects of the Company’s cornerstones, with a desire to develop into a subject-matter expert within the business and perform as a role-model in the department.

Key responsibilities for this job:

Establish yourself as a trusted advisor, working with Sales & Solution Consultants from an early stage of the opportunity cycle from both a technical & commercial perspective. Able to support design of new opportunities, both technically & commercially. Able to effectively respond to technical, functional elements of time sensitive RFIs/RFPs/BAFOs. Able to architect and propose innovative validated designs which address the identified business & technical objectives for a prospect, partner or customer. Design and deliver detailed presentations both internally & externally that showcase your solution and benefits – either in person or over a video conferencing tool. Develop, maintain, and deliver detailed product demonstrations, either in person, as part of a presentation or over a video conferencing tool. Develop and maintain accurate technical design documentation of our products and solutions. Build close working relationships with Product Management, Solution Consultants, Sales & Engineering teams throughout all elements of your role. Remain a point of contact, responsible for solution design, for Engineering, Delivery and support teams throughout an order lifecycle. Actively take part in secondments to Solution Implementation & Support Services teams, to remain knowledgeable across the entire order life Remain knowledgeable in your allotted technology vertical as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), by continuing to develop your skills and study new market data. Analyse and propose more effective ways of working within the bus Any other fair and reasonable task or duty assigned to you by your manager, or other senior staff member of Exponential-e Ltd.

Knowledge and experience required:

Demonstratable interest in the Managed IT / Telecommunications Working knowledge in common networking principles & protocols such as: L2-L4 TCP/IP Stack IP routing technologies such as OSPF & BGP Redundancy protocols such as VRRP Security principles such as Stateful Firewall, UTM, IPSec & SIEM Wireless principles such as SSIDs, Encryption & Authentication Demonstratable knowledge in SD-WAN and SASE fundamentals Demonstratable commercial awareness. Excellent written and oral communication skills; including the ability to translate technical jargon for a non-technical audience and vice-versa. Excellent organization & analytical skills with an eye for detail. Excellent presentation skills. Strong problem-solving skills – both technical and social. Thrive in a highly agile environment, managing multiple projects across multiple product suites simultaneously. Ability to work both individually and in a team environment towards an objective.

Desirable knowledge and experience: 

Current or previous technical certification in a discipline covered by one of our connectivity and cyber security Familiarity with Unified Communications & Collaboration technologies. Knowledge of Private & Public Cloud architecture.
