Location: London

Barings, a subsidiary of MassMutual, is an investment firm focused on creating innovative investment strategies and solutions for sophisticated investors. We offer the marketplace a unique yet complete collection of investment solutions including extensive experience in high yield investing. 

Barings’ Global High Yield Investments Group is seeking a candidate for an Associate Director position within their High Yield investments team in London. The candidate will be responsible for analysing and evaluating specific industries investment opportunities within the high yield and leveraged finance space.

Primary Responsibilities:

Originate, perform analysis and due diligence and present new investment ideasConduct fundamental credit analysis of global corporate credit without any bias to industry or sectorConduct financial statement analysis and detailed financial modellingMeet with management teams, develop industry contacts, and utilize other information sources to develop investment thesesProduce clear and concise research based on independent observation and analysis to be presented to the Investment CommitteeAssist with special ad-hoc projects, presentations and initiatives

Qualifications:

Six to nine years of experience working in high yield or leverage finance spaceAbility to perform under pressure and meet time sensitive deadlinesCommitment to task and an attention to detailStrong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office, Bloomberg, etc.Excellent writing and communications skillsGood personal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environmentTravel may be required
