About the Role Bury St Edmunds Primary Care Network (PCN) has an exciting opportunity for a hardworking, enthusiastic and innovative pharmacy technician to join our primary care network. You will work on behalf of our five member practices in the town and will be required to travel between all of the GP practices within our PCN. This role is offered on a full-time basis hours per week, part-time hours maybe considered. The successful candidate must be prepared to complete the CPPE Pharmacy Technician course as required for ARRS roles: The successful candidate will benefit from this opportunity to build up strong working relationships, across our organisation, and will be actively involved in how their role evolves over time. The main responsibilities of the role include: developing our prescribing systems to ensure safe, effective and efficient prescribing within the PCN; supporting the reception and administration teams, at our member practices, with complex medication queries; working with the clinical pharmacists and clinicians in accordance with agreed practice prescribing standard operating procedures. undertaking patient supporting roles to ensure effective medicines use, through shared decision-making conversations with patients. supporting the GP partners on prescribing projects and cost/safety audits and actions. Please see attached for further information. About the Candidate

The successful candidate will:

be a registered pharmacy technician with the GPhC; hold a Diploma Level 3 in pharmacy services, or equivalent; have strong experience in either a community pharmacy or a primary care setting; be confident in analysing and presenting information to health professionals; have experience of implementing and promoting cost-effective strategies; have the ability to interpret complex clinical information and present it in suitable formats, to a variety of people from professional and non-professional backgrounds.
About Us Bury St Edmunds Primary Care Network consists of five surgeries and serves some 67,000 patients from the town and surrounding villages. Our aim is to create a system where member practices work closely together in collaboration with health and social care, voluntary sector, community groups and local people, to deliver inclusive and personalised care. Bury Primary Care Network is a growing PCN with already existing roles including, care coordinators, social prescribers, clinical pharmacists, paramedics, health and wellbeing coaches and pharmacist technicians that support GPs and other clinical teams to enhance patient services in the local community. This role will contribute to improving the quality of patient care across the network of practices. You will be joining an enthusiastic team of clinicians and administrators and will be well supported with on-going professional development (training support, CPD and peer support).
