About the Role
The NHS Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board (ICB) is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join its Medicines Optimisation team. As a Pharmacy Technician - Medicines Optimisation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of medicines optimisation initiatives in primary care.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of medicines optimisation strategies across West Suffolk and North East Essex.
- Work closely with GP practices and Primary Care Networks (PCNs) to ensure effective communication on issues relating to prescribing and population health needs.
- Provide practices and PCN teams with timely and accurate benchmarking and prescribing performance data, supporting them to manage their prescribing budgets while adhering to local guidelines and the SNEE joint formulary.
- Analyse practice prescribing data from various sources to identify key areas for improvement in safety, quality, and cost-effective prescribing.
- Actively participate in, contribute to, and represent the Medicines Optimisation team at public-facing events.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent Pharmacy Technician qualification.
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Experience of working in health or social care, with a strong understanding of the NHS structure and commissioning arrangements.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to present information to a variety of people from professional and non-professional backgrounds.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
