Our roles:

We have multiple opportunities for Clinical Psychologists to join our CAMH services across the Outpatient service, Learning Disability Service and Eating Disorder Team with exciting possibilities for split-post options working across the services- strengthening and developing service links.

Part time hours/flexible working will be considered in line with service need.

WELCOME BONUS applies as follows:

Payable over two years, totalling £ 5000 per NEW substantive employee ONLY (Subject to tax and NI and non pensionable). Payable in first salary: £1,800 pro rata to hours worked. Payable after 12 Months Service: £1,800 pro rata to hours worked. Payable after 18 Months Service: £1,400 pro rata to hours worked

Roles are being offered at Band 8a, or Band 7 development post depending on experience. Preceptorship roles offer the opportunity for progression to Band 8a within a supported structure; responsibilities will be adjusted accordingly and a development plan will be agreed and reviewed. Working as a clinical psychologist in CAMHs will offer you a mix of opportunities for therapeutic work as well as drawing on your leadership skills. You will:

  • Support the MDT by offering consultation, supervision, in-house training and contributing to reflective practice/case discussions
  • Contribute to the development of service and therapeutic initiatives
  • Offer specialist assessment, formulation, intervention
  • Undertake care coordination responsibilities
  • Offer clinical supervision and host training placements for the DClinPsy
  • Contribute to teaching on the DClinPsy programme

Service specific Duties:

Within our CAMHS Outpatient service, we draw on a variety of therapeutic modalities including CBT, systemic, psychodynamic, narrative, EMDR and ACT. Alongside individual/systemic interventions, there are opportunities for delivering group work as part of the group work programme, for which training will be on offer. We also offer specialist neurodevelopmental and cognitive assessments.

Our CAMHS Learning Disability team offers person-centred systemic-orientated support packages for CYP who experience an Intellectual (Learning) Developmental Disability, and their family. There will be scope for developing the role of psychology in this post, along with strengthening existing links with the Outpatient service. You will take on responsibility for the supervision of Assistant Psychology colleagues and support the work of MDT colleagues.

Our CAMHS Eating Disorder team offers specialist assessment and intervention to young people and their families and carers. You will work within an MDT to provide group, individual and family-based interventions for children and young people with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, ARFID and OSFED diagnoses. We also provide cognitive and neurodevelopmental assessment. The successful applicant will have opportunities to train in NICE recommended treatments such as adolescent focused therapy and CBT-Enhanced.
